Crispy Tofu
Quick and easy crispy tofu!
Crispy Tofu

Yields: 4 Servings
Ingredients
- ¼ cup Corn Starch
- 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
- 2 tsp Paprika
- 1 pinch of each Salt & Pepper
- 16 oz Extra Firm Tofu
- 2 or to taste Scallions
- 3 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
- ½ tbsp Rice Vinegar
- 1 tsp Chili Flakes
- 1 tbsp Sugar
Directions
Step 1: Drain Tofu
- Drain tofu of excess water. Wrap tofu in a paper towel and place a heavy pot on top and let water drain for about ten minutes. Unwrap and pat dry.
Step 2: Tear Tofu
- Tear the tofu with your hands, into medium sized pieces. The jagged edges help the batter stick.
Step 3: Make Dry Batter
- Add corn starch, salt/pepper, paprika, and garlic powder to a Ziploc bag or large bowl and then add tofu. Toss to cover pieces.
Step 4: Fry Tofu
- Heat oil in a large non-stick skillet or wok.
- Drop one piece of tofu in the oil to make sure it is hot enough. The tofu should crisp up in seconds.
- Fry all the tofu until it is golden brown and crispy. Remove from heat.
Step 5: Make the Sauce
- Dice scallions and transfer to a bowl.
- Add sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar, chili flakes and vinegar to bowl with scallions and mix well.
- Add to cooked tofu while pan is still hot and mix well.
